Condos have always been a great alternative to purchasing when the price of a single family home in the area you want to live in is beyond your reach. I always recommend purchasing vs renting and not just because I am a Real Estate Broker.

Over time, those purchasing real estate have a greater net worth than those renting.  When you rent, you still have a mortgage payment, however you are paying your landlord’s mortgage payment and not your own. Wouldn’t you rather build your equity than the property owner’s from whom you are renting?
